The Exchange Club of Jacksonville Beach announces a Charitable Fall Fund-raising Event.
The event will be a BOWL-A-THON to be held at Beach Bowl on Beach Blvd., Jacksonville Beach on 15 November 2015. Save the date.
PINNING DOWN CHILD ABUSE BOWL-A-THON
Our target is to have 24 teams participate. Each team will be asked to raise a minimum of $1,000 as their team’s donation. Teams check in at 12 noon with bowling commencing at 12:30 and running until 3:30 p.m. Throughout the afternoon, raffle tickets will be sold ($1 each) and drawn for prizes. In addition, teams will be awarded prizes. One will be for the team that has the largest donation. Other prize categories will be announced.
Our club will be responsible for two teams.
To date, three committees have been formed to deal with the details. These are:
- Team Committee – co-chaired by Tom Taylor and John Mullins. This committee is responsible for getting the 24 teams, getting the information packets for each team captain and collecting the revenue from each. They will also be the contact point for each team captain.
- Door Prize Committee – Chaired by Gwen Dasher – responsible for obtaining at least 20 door prizes, getting the raffle tickets and putting together a team to sell raffle tickets, call numbers, and deliver prizes.
- Food and Prize Committee – Chaired by Mike Titzler – responsible for the supply and distribution of pizza and soft drinks. Also responsible for the judging of each team for the team prizes (to be announced at 3:30 p.m.)
Last FY, the Club supported the following:
our Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse;
Blessings in a Back Pack;
Pablo Hamlet;
Pablo Towers;
B.E.A.M.;
Students of the Month;
A.C.E. Students; and
two groups of children at Christmas.
Your support of our Club’s Fund Raising activity will allow us to continue our support of each of these worthy groups and will be deeply appreciated.
